SUPERFRONT Brooklyn on the move in 2011

SUPERFRONT Brooklyn is currently on the move.

It was a great 3+ years at 1432 Atlantic, SUPERFRONT’s original location in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.  As SUPERFRONT LA continues to hold it down in a 3,000 sq ft donated showroom at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, SUPERFRONT has expanded into flash curating for sites as far away as the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and building community projects for sites as close as our own backyard.

SUPERFRONT remains committed to Brooklyn.  We are currently planning for a larger headquarters in Brooklyn for 2011.  Please email space@superfront.org if you might be able to donate or sub-let any of the following types of space: workspace for an Architect-in-Residence (Jan – Feb 2011), small exhibition space for the Architect-in-Residence program (March 2011) indoor/outdoor, lecture and workshop spaces for the Cypher on Urban Affairs (March – June 2011), outdoor space for the Public Summer temporary installation (June – September 2011).

All proposals will be posted for public review on the superfront.org website. A group of emerging architects will be invited to develop designs for the most feasible and innovative public programs. Preference will be given to central Brooklyn-based entities that have been operating for at least one year. After a public design charrette on May 15th, the winning design-program combination will be selected for construction.

The winning organization must operate this space alongside SUPERFRONT staff during gallery hours which are every Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 pm, from July 9 through August 15, 2010.
